I purchased these DIors on sale and I'm thinking about returning them. Need to decide soon. They are the most gorgeous, shiny, pointy shoes I've ever seen. You can't really appreciate the shine the brushed calf has from the pictures. I'm not sure how they will look once I scuff them a few times. I'm also not sure I'll ever wear them. I read a blog saying they were versatile. How so? What kind of suit will I need to not look incongruous? Anyone have fit pics with shoes this flashy?

They are beautiful, I have a pair of burgundy derby by Dior Homme. I love whole cuts but I don't understand your lifestyle so I can't comment whether they are suitable for you

Very attractive shoes. Versatile? No. But with a fine wool or possibly silk navy or medium- or dark gray suit, they should coordinate well.

Those are not at all versatile. I can't think of anyplace to wear them. Maybe with a dark suit for a night out at a jazz club. That's about it.

He has a point. And they're not appropriate for typical interviews, even with the suit options described above

I hang out in jazz clubs and those aren't for jazz clubs. How about formal wear?

Elegant evening events would be the place to wear those shoes. Although with less shine they would be ok during the day with dark suits.

Too louche imo. You could really only wear them with sharp evening wear. During the day you would like like a miami club promoter or rich middle easterner in london. Im sure many will disagree with me though.

Absolutely not. I hang out in formal wear and those aren't for formal wear.
