Are we talking about caribiners? I know a lot of hipsters and non-hipsters wearing them when i was in college because they didn't like the feeling of keys floating around in their pockets. Can't blame them, i hate having keys in my pants pocket as well. When going places i usually just take the one key i need (house or car key) and leave the rest at home/car

You'll need to use some Obenauf's on that to make sure it's weatherproofed. Avoid salt too.

Oh, consider button-fly too. I had that same problem for ages...

For as long as i've been carrying keys i've been using these, it doesnt have anything to do with being a hipster
