First and foremost i would like to say hi to everyone and this site is very helpful. I have been browsing here for about a week now and there is so much useful info.

Second i have to admit i am a style newb.

Right now I have a very limited wardrobe. Mostly consisting of jeans, button ups, and polo's. I am 6'3 about 230lbs and wear size 38 jeans. I have short black hair, brown eyes, and tanish skin. I am heading out this weekend with some friends and I have no idea what to wear. We are going out to a nicer restaurant/bar/club. My fav. jeans are a dark blue pair of boot cut and a typical blue pair of boot cut, both levi's. I was thinking about a button up but i don't know where to start. I have a couple days so i can go out and do some shopping. So if you can suggest some shirt/jean/shoe combinations that would be very helpful. And if you have any more questions i can try to answer them.

Thanks,
Brian

Why don't you post a picture of what you were thinking of wearing here, and then we'll get to work on you. Having a starting point like that would be helpful.

Also: where do you live & how old are you?

I am 25 years old and I live in North East Ohio. So we have plenty of snow in the winters. I usually go to local places where jeans and a hoodie fit in fine. But going to nicer places in Cleveland stump me as what to wear. So really all i have to work with are jeans. I have some brown docs, k-swiss, and tennis shoes.

If you're going out to a nice restaurant, why is your starting point jeans? Get, if not some wool trou, at least a pair of cotton pants. You CAN wear darker jeans in such situations, but pants are more suitable. For your frame, jeans-wise which isn't terribly dissimilar to mine give or take 15 lbs and an inch, have a look at the nudie regular ralf.

The best answer to all of these threads is to look at 50 pages of the "what are you wearing today" thread at the top of the page.

You're becoming a real softie in these newbie threads. Your snarky comments provided some nice comedy.
