Hi,

I have an Armani Collezioni black pinstriped suit and wanted to buy a formal pair of shoes to wear with it (and also wear with my other plain black suit). I wan't something that looks nice but I don't want to overspend.

I quite like the look of Dune shoes and was wondering would these shoes be appropriate to wear with a black pinstripe suit?

They have a very subtle grid pattern, which I think looks nice but wanted to make sure it would be appropriate

No quite ugly and inappropriate anyway.

Settle for a classic pair of Oxford-style shoes.

eh I've seen worse. Honestly, your £89 shoe, looks like just that, a £89 shoe, and it'll only get worse with time. It'll work, it's fine. Around here, we generally recommend spending closer to about £150-200 as a good starting point for something that's properly made and will give you a solid 5-10 years of wear.

If the question is about the pattern, it's not great, we've seen worse, but it's fine. Just saying, you can do better. If that's all your budget, and they're comfortable, etc then go for it but work on getting something better in 6 months when they've fallen apart.

thanks for advice,

Little more info - I only get to wear my suit/shoes a few times a year e.g weddings and interviews mainly. My job doesn't require me to wear a suit, unfortunately.

I'd still like to complete the look from head to toe, so if I spend twice as much money...does anyone have any recommendations on what to buy?

There's a hugo boss nearby, so would this be better?

The Hugo Boss is not better than the first one...and the first one was ugly.

If you are willing to spend GBP 189 for the ugly Boss thing, you can also buy an entry-level Oxford like this Loake for GBP 155

which will look much better and last much longer than the shoes you posted

thanks for pointing me in a direction. The reviews sound great and the shoe itself looks smart. The price isn't bad and I particularly like the rounded toe as oppose to the square toe style.
