Never heard any of those covers. I made sure to listen to RT's/FMD's/TLC's right after. My take....

1. I love and own RT's single. Moves me much more than MN's version. I do like the brass band/sound towards the latter part of the vid.

RT > MN by far.

2. Tender Love is a great single from the FMD's. I can actually see MN's version on a "80's - 90's cover album" by various artists. Mellow take, IMO. Still.....

FMD's > MN but decent version.

3. TLC is pound for pound the #1 or 2 best female group of all time, in my opinion. Diana Ross & the Supremes(or just the Supremes) can/will flip flop with TLC at any given time.

Waterfalls is one of my favorite songs from TLC...if not my favorite. MN's version is mellow...but nothing special, IMO. This one really isn't close.

TLC > MN by a landslide.

Just my $.02.

Things That Are Bothering You, Got You All Hibbeldy-Jibbeldy, or just downright pissed, RIGHT NOW!

My mom and I always had regular long conversations about life, politics, friends and family etc. I had a similar conversation with my sister last week about my brother and the Covid hospitalization business. It reminded me how much I missed that.

The original takes are usually the best, but it is cool to hear another artist put their spin on things. I thoroughly enjoyed Sensitivity and Tender Love.
