I remember thinking Good Morning Vietnam was ok. Haven't seen it in years, and I suspect that I'd have a less favorable impression of it now.

What about Awakenings?
One I have never seen. Worth a look?

Aladdin. He was great as Genie.
That time Will Smith unwittingly saved a bit of Robin Williams' acting rep, years later, maybe?...Because the new Aladdin really looks 100x more horrible than the RW one.

"Hey, folks! When the book is so great, why don't we really sully it by making not one but two really atrocious dumbed-down movie adaptations of it, yeah?"

I am not a Will Smith fan at all.
I think very possibly the WORST movie I have ever seen was that crappy post-apo dystopian inanity he did with his completely talent-less son. Maybe the only movie ever that had 0 grains of anything good, from beginning to end. It really was pathetic.

Finished the Star Wars ep last night. Meh.

Recently watched 99 Homes. The movie was okay, but as usual, Michael Shannon dominates any scene he's in. I'm looking forward to him getting that defining role as he's going to nail it.
+1 on Stars Wars: Meh.

+1000 on Michael Shannon. He is fantastic in everything I have seen him in.
What do you think that defining role will be?

^ The opening is still solid mostly due to the great Bruno Kirby.

To paraphrase Neil Young, "This movie starts out OK, but then dissipates into relentless, empty, somewhat condescending clichè really really fast...." ?

I fell asleep during The Last Jedi. I almost never do that. In fact, the last time I remember doing that was Attack Of The Clones. I should probably just give up on watching Star Wars movies... On the other hand, I actually kinda liked Rogue One and Solo.

I've only seen 3 movies with Robin Williams, and Awakenings is my favorite of the 3 (going by my IMDB ratings). Though as you implied, he does seem to play the same sort of character in most of his films (and this is no exception).

What Dreams May Come was decent. I saw it a long time ago.

Actually, now that I think about it, I don’t remember much about it. It was probably horrible.

I guess it fits in those films you have good memories of only because they remind you of certain years in your life.

^Does that have an English title? Gazzara’s awesome. Loved him ever since that one where he played Bukowski.

The DVR finally turned up In the Line of Fire — definitely awesome! Plus (I just noticed) it has the weird distinction of being packed with actors who looked weird/worse when they were younger — Dylan McDermot, Gary Cole...Steve Railsback(!). I would have liked it better if Clint Eastwood pursued an equally-grizzled ladyfriend for once. Just sayin’.
