I just wanted to know what makes hugo boss different from a cheaper suit because the price difference is crazy.

Search for some stuff on Hugo Boss on the forum and read it, then come back. I hate it when people answer like this, but seriously do.

Hugo Boss will use better fabric, and has better quality control overall. But that's about it.

On the Styleforum you will get general trashing of anything Hugo Boss, or for that matter, anything that reeks of "designer" Every name with a prominent advertisment space/spread in the likes of GQ/Detail is a "designer"

the cut and the construction is the main gripe around here. They tend to have a boxier cut and they fuse their suits instead of canvasing them. The fabrics are usually pretty nice and drape well, but they are nothing special.

+1 A majority of the Hugo Boss suits are fused, as are 'cheap' suits, but their cut and fabrics are much better. Overall, Hugo Boss suits wear better than 'cheap' suits; however for a quality-to-price ratio, you are basically paying for the bragging rights (if you could call it that). Hugo Boss does have a line of suits that are canvassed and I believe it is called Hugo boss Baldessarini.

Isaia is all over GQ. At least it was 1-2 years ago when I had a subscription.

Baldessarini is no longer part of Hugo Boss. He was an old executive, but he left the company a while ago and he now runs the company with no connection to Hugo Boss... as far as i know

The brand itself and price. sometimes you can fine good quality suits for half the price.

Im starting to think SF supports brands that cater to the 35+ crowd. Dont get me wrong, I love Isaia, purple label and Kiton! They are some of my favorites

But I also love Dior, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and more .

Designer clothing has a special place in my heart too.
