What Makes a "Good" Tie Knot?

When you guys tie a 4IH do you start with the wide end on the left or the right? Does it matter?

Judging by the WAYWT thread there doesn't seem to be a clear consensus...

Doesn't matter, just habit. Also, the first photo isn't a FIH, it's some weird bastard knot that doesn't have a name.
