What is it about AE that you want to compare to? Quality?

My wife and I spend time at Montana's Glacier National Park Lodge, McDonald Lake Lodge, Issac Walton, and other great inns. The Calfskin Allen Edmond boots are known for a great quality fit and material, and they are known to preserve a traditional conservative line of boots to represent the American history styles of our country.

There are some similar lady boots with have a tassel or some other minor ornate item to what would otherwise appear to be a gen-all or man's boot, but rather than take a chance on these - I thought it would be appropriate to see if any SF members have come across some exceptional women boots.

Below are some other women boots I found (one of which is available at Nordstroms):

Just curious but doesn't your better half know boot brands to her liking?
Most women don't want to wear boots that look like mens boots.
Secondly, most womens footwear is paper-thin over-priced crap, as I am sure she will tell you.

FRYE was the closest I could find for half decent womens boots made in USA.
I saw only one model that remotely resembled what you may want.

Rag & Bone is another suggestion

Trickers Malton is a nice wingtip boot if she doesn't mind chunky.

I would also like to see what others suggest. :lurk:

I think that your wife will know more about this than most of us will. Unless it's meant to be a surprise, why don't you just ask her? It takes a lot less work than thinking up and starting an internet thread.

Crockett and Jones sells women's boots. I can't say I am a big fan of the look though.

Yes, she adores the selection I have made for myself (The LongBranch Boot), and I would like to present some well researched ideas for the "her's" to go along with the "his" when doing walks together.

If I met a woman wearing trickers with jeans like the one in the picture I would marry her instantaneously.

These are Carmina (and happen to be my pair)---they make some nice women's shoes (and boots!) as well.

Women's feet tend to be a little narrower than men's. If that's the case for your wife, maybe a narrow size of an AE men's boot like the Dalton?
