I'm looking to buy some nice sweaters (not cashmere) and dress shirts but from what I've been reading, BB quality has gone down. What's the next best thing?

If you like trad American style, try J Press.
Seeing how there are a ba-jillion expensive stores, and we know nothing of your preferences, my best advice is to buy from the merchant that's ever so slightly pricer than Brooks.

I am not the type of person who pays a higher price because I think higher price = better quality. That wasn't my question - my question was what is the next step up. I'm sure there are brands out there that are better than BB for a lower price, but if I have to pay more, I don't mind.
Brooks Quality Decline:Who said Brooks quality has gone down? In what sense?
I know they do offer other tailored clothing but haven’t really tried them out other than shirts.Hamilton has a good reputation. Barney's offered their bespoke shirt service
some years ago. Hamilton doesn't make tailored clothing does it?
