Just tentatively finished a report for an alleged 39S. Frustrationg fit issues, including not being able to locate any decent-looking, reasonably-priced 39S suits or sportcoats. (Fortunately, there was no need for theml) Brooks Brothers and Paul Stuart used to make them, apparently. Is nobody mass-producing 39S for under $1000 now?

So it's true that nobody makes a wide selection of low or mid-priced size 39S anymore? Which would be strange, considering that men want more precise fits than 10-15 years ago and that weight-lifting has become widespread.

39" is 50EU. Okay the S makes it less common but 50 is one of the most common EU size. Everything from very low end stuff on up.

That translates to 40, not 39.

If 39 is 50 EU then what is 40? 52 EU? In my experience 39 has no actual EU sizing and 40 = 50 EU. Feel free to correct if I'm wrong. The size label is always misleading anyway. Only the measurements matter.

No all the EU sizes are in cm. There is nothing in inches. A 52 is 104cm. Why would they have inches?

I don't know this for a fact but I'm guessing they are doing it to try and keep it a standard 2 between sizes like 38-40 or 48-50. Its true that men want more precise fits than 10-15 years ago but the market that would require an in between size is probably too small for them to go into/stay in, besides i think the size gap between a 38 and a 40 is small enough that you would be able to to alter down a 40 to fit a 39. If not you could always look at other brands for example a size 38 in brooks brothers is not the same as a size 38 in RLBL.

I am currently around 39S as well :fistbump:

I think I either have to gain some weight to move to 40 or lose more to get to 38 :embar:
