What C&J last are C&J-made Polo Ralph Lauren shoes?

Just curious - it appears that this forum either thinks that they are at 'benchgrade' level, or somewhere between 'handgrade' and 'benchgrade'.

Does anyone else know how a C&J-made PRL shoe compares in terms of fit to C&J branded shoes? i.e. if I wear a 10D in a C&J-made PRL, I would wear a C&J size (?)?

Also, are C&J-made PRL shoes done in a particular C&J last?

Various lasts. Depends on the model.

As for size, most feel that US-sized Polo clones are 1/2 different from UK-sized C&J models. In other words, a Polo 10 is a UK9.5. Also, and this is important, most SF-ers believe that the Polo shoes are slimmer than the standard width C&Js.

Thanks for that reply - I have a few further questions though.

Are you sure about the sizing thing? Just asking because UK sizing is different from US sizing anyway...

Also, I was under the distinct impression that C&J lasts were already pretty narrow!

Try using the "Search" function. This is fairly well documented and their have been several threads, both here and at AAAC that have discussed this ad nauseum.

Narrowness is relative. C&J "E" ("normal" width) lasts are generally wider than, say Edward Green's "E."

Also, actual narrowness depends on the last itself. I have C&J shoes on "country" lasts like the 242 that are relatively wide, while others on the 348 (e.g., Hallam, etc.) that are narrower.

PRL has used the 337 and 325 in addition to a couple of others. Some of the shoes are handgrade-quality, IMHO, some are a step down in terms of finishing. I don't find they run narrow, and I do find that they are sized a 1/2 size up from their UK-size equivalent.
