Get a rugby shirt 1 size up (they shrink like crazy) from a Canadian company called Barbarian. They are really used for rugby, look great, and are really durable (designed not to ripped even under sustained efforts by strong, squat, men.)

I have a few rugby shirts I bought in the early 90s from J. Crew that I still occasionally wear. In style or not -- I always consider them in style because of their classic nature -- I like them.

They aren't in-style in the sense that everyone is wearing them, but they are at least moderately common. They're so basic and easy to wear, it's hard to say that they'll ever be out of style.

I wear rugby shirts a lot in winter for casual wear (I've seen them called the polo shirt's cousin). They're one of the few casual, long-sleeved shirts that I can find in "tall" sizes. Don't have any sources of high-quality rugby shirts, though. I buy them whenever I find one that fits.

Patagonia still makes a Rugby shirt. It was one of their first items. And it's been, in my experience, bullet-proof.
