+1

I really liked the movie but was close to choke the people next to me who talked all the time while there was no conversation in the movie. Really looking forward to the bluray release.

Hahah. I know. It's like when people were trying to tell me that The Dark Knight was some well done, deep, philosophical type thing. I guess when you're not that bright and used to ****** movies, this kinda stuff passes for thoughtful and penetrating. Kinda like people who pretend boondock saints is a good movie. I'll probably see it as i know i have friends who want to watch it and they'll invite me out. Otherwise, i have no desire to see it. The overly stylized, faux-thoughtful type stuff doesn't really appeal to me. I hope the graphic novel fad dies out soon and people can quit pretending TDK, sin city, 300, watchmen, and others are masterpieces. They're "cool" movies for dudes. Entertaining for the most part though (except 300 which was terrible)

uhm maybe you guys shoudl actually read the comic. the point is that each of the characters represent a different worldview/philosophy. there's a reason why this was considered one of the 100 best 'novels' of the last 100 years, even if it's a comic. it's the question of do the ends justify the means, of if moral absolutism is worthwhile, etc, etc.

its very good and you shouldn't **** on the ideas represented.

Uh... this "fad" has been around longer than rap. When does it stop being a fad? I wouldn't hold your breath.

I agree, read the book before complainign about it.
The movie is not as good as the book but the book is probably the best Graphic Novel ever written.

Now if you guys have read it and then still feel the same way (about the book) then I could respect your opinions, but as of now, you guys are talking out of your ass. Well, about the Watchmen book at least.

the self recursion and allusions in the graphic novel are amazing.

For those of you who are waiting for the "directors cut" (all the Tales From The Black Frieghter stuff included, additional scenes, and etc) from what I hear, you won't be waiting long.

tdk and watchmen aren't comparable. you seem to think liking a comic makes you some sort of ultra nerd, but you should actually read it first. it's the only comic I've read in years and years, and it is amazing thematically and very, very well written

If something is popular yet not appealing to chrono, it becomes a "fad". Nothing new here.

Roger Ebert rates the movie 4 stars out of 4, albeit in the only review of his that I find utterly unreadable. Probably because I haven't seen the comic. Plan to see it this weekend though.
