Greetings!
I am working on a project for the DC Preservation League on Legacy Businesses: retailers, restaurants, hotels, and others that have been around for more than 20 years. The criteria includes:
-must be located in Washington DC proper (sorry, Bethesda!)
-must have opened up at least 20 years ago (so let's say 2005, as this is a living list)
-should NOT be part of a national chain (i.e., no Morton's Steakhouse, BB, Paul Stuart...). I am getting clarification as to whether it can be part of a local chain
-if it closed at some point, it should have been closed no longer than 4 years each time (for instance, renovations)
I have come up with several, including Martin's Tavern, Georgetown Inn, and others. All you need to do is reply to this forum and write the name/general address of the business, and I will look up the rest. Also, please focus on businesses that are still serving the community: I know from personal experience it is too easy to remanence about Britch's of Georgetown while ignoring Wm Fox!
I am not sure what the cross-posting guidelines are for styleforum, but let's start on this forum.
