indeed... I know a few of us in the UK were disappointed when he announced that. Goretex is our daily go to.

Not many Copleston's around either

I don't know too much about materials technology, but given goretex patent expired maybe it's close to the real thing anyways.

I'm looking at picking up a six five jacket for my iris liner. Does the jacket need to be the same size as the iris for the buttons and holes to match ?

don't think they need to be the same size. i have a size 1 in the six five and a 3 in a iris liner and was able to match the buttons to the button holes. i'm out of town so can't double check this tho.

Bummer, I placed an order for the black friday iris navy in a 2, but it got cancelled. Called visvim LA to find out what happened, their webstore couldn’t keep accurate stock during the event. I guess 15 minutes was too long to decide to order.

You need to be very careful. I did a quick 1 minute sink soak on mine and let them air dry. The jeans expanded a little bit but lost some of the "dry" feeling. I also bought a pair off of zenmarket that had been washed or professionally cleaned and the majority of the dry feeling was removed. At this point they basically feel like any regular washed Vis denim.
What’s the consensus on washing DRY denim? The care tag says to hand wash, is that potentially problematic?

The product description does mention that the jeans will expand if introduced to water so that is something to consider. Personally my pair expanded a little bit but not to the point where they went up a size but I probably lost 10-15% of the "dry" feeling. Also a Vis rep told me the earlier versions of the dry denim were more sensitive to water contact. Going forward I plan on finding alternative washing methods if available.

Which season are yours from?

Josed (Santa Fe Store Manager) mentioned he machine washes and dryes his jeans, so surprised to hear you've had issues.

I'll give the jacket a handwash and report back my experience.
