Yup, they were cool and I like the colors but too wide for me.

Most of my pants are pretty wide so i wasn't too worried about that. Not sure if I should get a 2 or 3 because I could really use the extra inch of inseam on the size 3 but the waist is close to a 36.

I don't think any stockists in NY are carrying new season items yet so I couldn't even try them on if I wanted to

Does anyone have any insight into fit and styling of the Brigadier vs. Marshall vs. Hilts boots?

Own brigadiers and thinking about another pair, but also vaguely intrigued by the Marshall (might be a more rugged style?), and recall thinking the Hilts were cool (more refined than rugged?)

Nice purchase! I've been looking for one of these for forever but they rarely ever pop up. And if they do its usually pretty pricey.

I don't think I overpaid but I didn't even bother sending an offer, I bought it at the seller's asking price

This store in Philly has a decent number of older models on sale in a range of sizes:

I was browsing Gr@iled for the SS19 Collage Christos and I'm fairly certain most of the ones sold (for upwards of $1k!) have been fakes.

I've always felt like Visvim doesn't do all that well for third party stores in the US. The audience, outside of the temporary hype generated for FBT's and stuff by Kanye, has always been a relatively small group. I could be wrong, but I don't think the brand has the cachet to drive beanie and t-shirt sales so it's always weird to see third party stores stocking them. Is this a forced buy by Visvim to get access to more hype items?

I've always thought Visvim does pretty well for retailers. I'm not the biggest Visvim aficionado, but it seems like stores slowly, but steadily sell through their Visvim buys and rarely need to discount them more than 25%. In today's retail landscape, I'd say that's pretty desirable.

I recently made my first Visvim purchase, the Brigadier Boot in Camel, from Blue Owl. I've been skeptical about the brand for years due to the high price point, but I finally took the leap and I'm already plotting my next purchase. For an anecdotal data point, Blue Owl started carrying Visvim in FW19 and they've been expanding their offering. They said they want to stock more, but brand restrictions haven't let them since they're a new account.

To be honest, part of that store's problem may be visibility. I live in Philly and hadn't heard of it before reading the article by Andre 3000's stylist on No Man Walks Alone where she discussed buying Visvim there (to pair with some 18 East!). As you said, FBTs are the most hyped item, and that store has them on discount in pretty much all sizes.

Those Brigadiers are beautiful. I do miss the calico detailing of prior versions, though. I resoled my pair from AW14 so the heel looks more like yours now; might see if I can buy some calico print off Etsy for use with the next resole.

I think I've seen a lot of stores stop stocking Visvim, but they are also generally the types of stores that rode the hype and have more of a streetwear aesthetic. Perhaps stores that target to a more traditional Americana/Outdoorsy market do better. I consider Blue Owl to sort of be in the latter category.

Brigadiers are my one of my favorites especially once they’re worn in with some battle scars.

3 years. Old VISVIM never dies.
