What is going on with Miloh shop, customer service is practically non-existent. Process of trying to get the Mushroom Chamois boots I paid for is like having a part time job:facepalm:.

Don't get the country boot hate. I like it a lot (the pattern, that is).

That said, 2030 doesn't make sense at all on the WF makeup. And, I'm realizing I'd rather have a Rancourt handsewn chromepak boot if I were in the market for this right now. Shrug.

I think it’s just very easy to get the country boot makeup wrong, and they got this one wrong in multiple ways

You made a similar comment about the wholecuts. What would be your minimal changes to make each 'good'?

Same. The country boot pattern has a very long vamp, and it looks even more extreme on 2030. Plus kind of cankle-y.

I think you’re right about 2030...it does not suit this pattern well. I think I may have liked it better if it was on 2040 maybe?

On this, ditch the hooks to start, the eyelet and hook sizes are mismatched and it looks terrible, and even if the argument is hooks are more convenient they're totally unnecessary on a 7 eyelet boot. Doing that and changing the last to a 1035 unstructured toe would go a long way imo. Two other small, less "necessary" changes would be going to 8 antique eyelets in the style you see on the BBS color 8 cxl boot and ditching the faux cap stitch.

On those roughout waxed camel wholecut, get it off of commando and onto something thick but not as chunky (Vibram 430 I think would be my choice) and do something to soften the way Viberg does their gyw construction. Maybe add a 360 storm welt, or go to 270. Optionally maybe bring the eyelets to a gloss black or slightly darker silver/gunmetal.
