i bought my first pair of boots, a pair of new Vibergs. But the Viberg is killing my feet - the top of the boot shaft seems to rub against my tendons / ligaments; after wearing the Vibergs for a few hours i have noticeable shooting pains when the area feels pressure.

i assume this isn't common, but is this something that will improve as the boot gets softer? or is this a hopeless cause, because the shaft height isn't going to change. i'm feeling it's the latter, but if it is the former i'm happy to continue breaking the Viberg's in.

Also - anyone else face this issue? feels like i could have gotten a shorter or longer boot shaft...

thanks!

I size down .5 like the Alden Barrie for viberg lasts in general.
I’m a 10.5 so I get viberg size 10 in the 2030.

Maybe you went down too much?

thanks - i think i got the right size, both lenth and width are comfortable. the lower part of the boot, where the foot rests, is fine, and pretty comfortable. just not anything above the ankle...

If it’s strictly just the boot shaft that’s bothering you, that with become more flexible with time. You can condition the leather to speed that up a bit. What leather did you go with?

Stupid question but how tight are you tying the upper eyelets? Maybe try leaving the top eyelet undone while you break the boots in

Gutted to find out they won't have midnight reverse Kudu at the MTO. Does anyone have any recommendations on what might have a similar look? Or should I be patient and hope they bring it back? If anyone has side-by-sides of the midnight Kudu and the Petrol Chamois roughout that would be hugely appreciated.
