Versace Collection fit question

does anyone have experience with the fit of Versace Collection outerwear? Im looking at a coat online but im not sure what size to order. I normally wear a 40R (50 euro) but sometimes a 42 (52 euro) ex. I just purchased a 52/42R Dolce Gabbana suit. The Dolce suit was part of the "luxury" line so it has a bit more of a slim fit. Any help or experience with this line would be greatly appreciated and will hopefully save me from having to go back and forth with returns! My gut says go with a 50/40... HELP!

I think he bought a Dolce&Gabanna suit and he's asking about versace collection.

Versace collection is there semi-diffusion line. It's kinda like how D&G compares to Dolce and Gabanna. I've looked over their pieces, but they're boxy, made poorly, and overly priced.

no, I recently purchased a Dolce Gabbana suit from their "luxury" line and was trying to use that as a comparison to what size I am. The coat that I am looking at is Versace Collection but not available in my local stores so I cannot try it on. I wear a 50/40R most of the time but some designers are really slim fit.

In that case, I'd go with the 40R

Thanks. Yeah, I have never seen any pieces from the Versace Collection line that I have liked but something caught my eye and I think im going to give it a shot. I have to order the piece online so I want to get the fit/ size right the first time to avoid returns and exchanges via mail which is a pain and take a couple weeks. Have you ever tried on any Versace Collection pieces? If so, how did they fit?

They don't fit anything like D&G (main line and diffusion) in my experience. The D&G stuff fit me quite well though I usually require things to be quite slim (RLBLish) for a decent fit. The Versace collection was just awful. I'm a 38R in RLBL and D&G. The 38 Versace fit like a tent. the 36R was better in the shoulders and chest, but the look was terribly boxy and the pants were huge in both cases.

I'm not sure what the deal is with their coats. I tried a Collection peacoat last year and the 38R fit me well but was still too boxy looking for my liking.

Versace collection's trouser has a boot cut flavor to it most of the time, the jacket was not boxy though, at least when i bought it 3 years ago, back the pre SF days. Quality sits somewhere between Z-Zegna and E. Zegna if you ask me.

P.S. I am 38 in RLBL and pretty much 36 in everything else, in general I would not compare RLBL's size to other brand, I still need to go to 36 even in V model in Isaia (though never end up buying it, just doesn't look good on me).

That's true, RLBL is very different in terms of fit. But if the OP likes the D&G fit, I think he will be dissapointed with the Versace. I feel like the silhouette is just very severe and angular. There also doesn't seem to be very good waist suppression on the coats, but perhaps that can be fixed by a good tailor.

My Versace jackets are in the closet and gf is asleep...will look tomorrow for the sizes for you.
In my case>> I take an American 43R and if memory serves the euro 53 sounds about right.

I have tried on a lot of Versace Collection stuff. Given your post, I say go with 40R.

Some sites have per item, not general, specific measurements. Does this site give you that?

thanks for the response. The site did not list specific measurements of the coat... I wish they did! I wasnt sure if the line was really slim fit because I generally take a 50/40 but I sometimes have to go a size up (52/42) on slimmer fit lines.

Here's a suggestion. Try calling David Lawrence (a store) in Seattle. They carry this line. Ask them if they have any jackets and if so ask them to provide measurements or an idea of the fit.

Hope it works out for you!
