Looking for recommendations on some high quality v neck sweaters. Preferably merino wool I got some Uniqlo ones that are really unimpressive and thin.

Any other suggestions, I tried Uniqlo like I said I was disappointed, I also am trying Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus house brands. Thanks in advance. Would be willing to pay up to 300

Uniqlo are mass produced. I guess you are looking for a better quality small batch maker. Howlin' by Morrison are decent quality - better than A.P.C. of France. Smedley is fine but colours tend towatds middle age if yoy are into that. Inis Meain - when they make V necks are great ( seasonal). Most preppy look specialists do tend to use cheaper wool instead offine spanish merino: thicker fine haired merino isn't so common. You might find something from Margaret Howell (currently on sale, so it falls within your budget). I don't know the non-European brands do much. Alan Paine (British made some, as well as cricket v's). Crombie do some great ones - better merino wool quality but it is almost too refined, after wearing, a rubbed area starts showing.
