unshrinking a shirt

I have a new CK Collection shirt, which has shrunk a bit too much in the chest after the first wash. I've read that you can use vinegar on the shirt, then throw it in the washer, which will help the shirt to 'unshrink'. Has anyone actually tried this on a dress shirt (most references have people using it on t-shirts).

I'd rather have a slighty tight shirt than a ruined shirt.

I wouldn't try it. Vinegar is acid. Even if it did help, I'm not sure it would unshrink the shirt uniformly.

I know vinegar is good for laundry because it retains color and remove salt and body odor from clothes.. as far as unshrinking I don't know or haven't paid attention to that.

Once it's shrunk, it's shrunk. Nothing you can do about it, as far as I know.

Try soaking it in water. Wring it out. Hang it wet on a hanger. Pull uniformly along all parts of the shirt you want. Let it hang dry. It may work. I did this on a shirt that has a tiny bit of stretch to it and it worked beautifully. 100% cotton may not respond as much.

I have only tried on collar and sleeves but should work for any part.

I doubt it will stay "unshrunk."

washing it on cold and hang drying, and then ironing on hot after it dries seems to relax the fabric just a little bit, but probably wont be enough, and takes multiple times.

the same can be done with tight cuffs
not sure how much you can get out of the chest
did you put this shirt in a dryer?
