Hey I am not willing to go that far!.....lol. I have an older pair of Cigar Indy's that are the nice lighter shade. I do have a pair of #8 shell Indy's that I may show the door soon though.
Tbh I do find the Truman boot to be as comfortable as the Indy and similar in fit when sized correctly
what was your Indy to Truman conversion?

That is great info - I am going up up a full size from barrie/trubalance - thanks for confirming - feel much better about my boot on order.
My experience is that dainite soles do not do as well as commando soles. The tread pattern is really more suited, ime, to rainy, rather than snowy, conditions, and it is actually quite shallow. That said, for city wear, you are probably going to be fine unless you hit a piece of black ice, in which case, only crampons are going to help you.Yes, I am in a snow environment. Do the dainite soles not do so well? I'm just not sure if I like the clunkyness of the commando sole. Some pictures I like it, others it looks very clunky.

If you are concerned about the clunkiness of the commando sole you may want to reconsider a Truman boot . They are most def a workboot . Side by side with an Alden on the Barrie they are huge
