These are tremendous! I am considering unloading my Brown CXL Indy's to open up a spot for these bad boys.

I sold my cigar shell indys to make room for the waxed flesh

Tbh I do find the Truman boot to be as comfortable as the Indy and similar in fit when sized correctly

what was your Indy to Truman conversion?

I went a size and a half up from the trubalance but I think that's unusual a full size would prolly be average . The Truman tends to fit a bit narrow at the point the tongue meets the vamp and I got a big boney knob there . That's not an issue on the Alden's

I've mentioned this before but Vince told me he didn't want to put anyone in boots that don't fit

Yes, I am in a snow environment. Do the dainite soles not do so well? I'm just not sure if I like the clunkyness of the commando sole. Some pictures I like it, others it looks very clunky.

My experience is that dainite soles do not do as well as commando soles. The tread pattern is really more suited, ime, to rainy, rather than snowy, conditions, and it is actually quite shallow. That said, for city wear, you are probably going to be fine unless you hit a piece of black ice, in which case, only crampons are going to help you.

If you are concerned about the clunkiness of the commando sole you may want to reconsider a Truman boot . They are most def a workboot . Side by side with an Alden on the Barrie they are huge
