Trench coat belt buckle replacement?

I've just scored a nice, if not excessively valuable, vintage navy trench coat from Ebay.uk. The construction seems sturdy, there's little wear, and the fit is slim, which suits me. My only complaint is the buckle: it's cheap plastic and may not be the original, since its style and surface texture is quite different from the buttons.

My question is this: is there an online source for these sorts of simple square buckles? Preferably a metal one, or leather wrapped. I've searched this site, AAAC and Googled a bit, but nothing seemed available outside of mass bulk purchases from China.

Amazing what you can get from China.

Any help is appreciated.

Burberry has leather covered buckles, maybe they would sell you one. They replaced the one on my trench 21 free of charge.

Didn't see them on Burberry's site, but I can call their Atlanta store tomorrow, and see what they say.

The Burberry folks at the store seemed a little puzzled by my request, so I've emailed the mothership. We'll see how that goes.

I confess to doing just that. They, clever bastards, said "Fine! Bring it in. We'll send it off to be fixed." Perhaps brand control? Are their buckles that idiosyncratic?

I was wondering if you were able to get the replacement buckles for the Burberry coat you were looking for ? I have a similar need for a full set of them.. Did you get Leather ones to replace? Where did you find them ?

Appreciate anything you can lead me to !

I had no trouble at all replacing the buckles on my wife's burberry trench (it's even vintage pre-2000). We took a couple pics of the wear on them, sent the pics into burberry via email, and they shipped out some to us, free of charge.

I replaced my GF's Burberry buckles with plastic ones (plastic over metal that is). Unless the Burberry police are in the same location she is, no one will ever know or care, and the plastic ones will probably out-live the coat.

I have just received high quality replacement buckles for my trench coat. I think you can get replacement buckles for your Burberry trench from the same supplier. Just make sure to carefully measure the size of your original buckles and order the buckles of the same or close enough sizes. Also, when orderding from this supplier, make sure to ask for the matching hooks as well. Here is the URL of the supplier:

http://www.hemispherenovelties.com/

When you know the size and color of the bukles you want, communicate with them via email. They are not so quick in their responses, but they'll send you very nice leather buckles at very reasonable prices and shipping cost.

Hope this helps.
