I am a medical student doing some residency interviews this month. I have a dark charcoal suit with tiny pinstripes. I have some brown shoes that I am thinking about wearing with it, but am curious about the shirt/tie to go with that combo. I realize that it would be bold in a formal interview setting with the charcoal + brown shoes, but .... Anyway let me know what you think, thanks!

Maybe a Light Blue shirt and a dark Burgundy (very dark and not at all reddish) tie.

This kind of look.

+ 1 minus the square, although it dose match and complete the outfit nicely it's a bit too much for an interview.

Oh I wasnt recommending the square for the interview. that happened to be the picture that was on my site for that tie.

In fact I dont recommend a square at all for the interview.

Isnt a dot tie a bit formal for an interview.

I'm wearing one to an after-hours party tonight and I feel its a hair too formal.

Guaranteed that is one of the last thoughts on the minds of the doctors interviewing this guy.
