In October 2011, Thomas Pink is contributing 15% of the retail price* of each pair of Silver Ribbon Cufflinks sold to Susan G. Komen for the Cure

How is anyone to know what "15% of the retail price" means?
Why not "100% of the profits" ?

I guess it's good they are doing it at all, but I don't really like the look of the links.

Since they're a menswear brand primarily (does Pink make anything for women?) you'd think they'd be fundraising for prostate cancer.

I feel like these should be pink in color or at least have some pink on them to really communicate the breast cancer message. And yeah, 15% is BS.

15% of the Retail Price means 15% * 185 = $27.75 per cufflink. Retail price is way more transparent than profit ... you know exactly how much going to charity. Profit is an accounting term ... if they were to say 50% of profits go to charity then you would want to know how much he profit per cufflink is. And that's probably not something Pink is going to want to share!
(Assuming they even know how much the profits per cufflink are .... since its extremely hard to calculate marketing and selling costs per product)

I don't understand why you would bother to play the devil's advocate in this way. It is absolutely standard for charity retail items to donate "[100]% of the profits/proceeds to XYZ." Nobody ever says "X% of the retail price" -- I have never seen that before in my life, and typically if it's not a percentage of profits it's a flat dollar amount ("$10 from each purchase"). Furthermore, you are completely wrong to suggest that it is "more transparent" to say 15% of the retail price because that depends entirely on what information you are after. I would much rather know a company is giving up the entirety of their profits from a certain item to support a good cause than know the exact number they end up donating: I don't care what dollar value 100% of the profit has as long as it's all of it (100%), whereas if they are donating 15% of MSRP I could theoretically calculate the total final donation and still have no idea if they are keeping more for themselves in profit than they are donating.
What would a prostate cancer cufflink look like?
Well it's not as if these ones are shaped like breasts...

That's exactly what I think. I won't be buying anything from Pink anymore. It's bad enough we have to see this silly pink ribbon nonsense all over as if it's the only thing in the world but when a co. making its profits from men isn't concerned with male issues hen it's time to cut their profits and teach them a lesson about who feeds them. A disease that effects middle aged females is of no concen to me.
