no need to insult @brokencycle's family.road-laying cows.
Thoughts and prayers man. Thoughts and prayers. Is it me or does this sentence just mean absolutely ******* nothing:
“"Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time”
This is a fact. I've seen evidence of what happens to people who disregard it on more than one occasion.I called the place I was booked to stay the first night, somewhere halfway down the peninsula to get some last minute directions or something.
They said "try real hard to get here before sunset"
"why, vampires?"
"once the sun sets, all the cows tend to lay down on the road for warmth"
Sure enough, I'm getting there just as the sun is setting, and I'm doing a slow, serpentine in the canary yellow mini coop through a sea of road-laying cows.
I’d like to sit at a bar with @Numbernine and @JLibourel.when this convo started i'd totally assumed 9er would have a baja story from the 70s or 80s ,
so happy this came through ! ?
Retirement homes usually don't allow the inmates to go out and meet non family.I’d like to sit at a bar with @Numbernine and @JLibourel.
I do remember all these rickety trucks that were so overloaded that it was impossible to see the road beyond them. The "highway" was just a glorified 2 lane road, often w/ no shoulder. The trucks crept along under 30 mph but you didn't dare risk passing them, so they would put on their left turn signal for you when the the coast was clear - had never seen that before...This is a fact. Yeah but you road one of "those" busses. It takes some balls to even get on one of things. Those trucks probably picked up that to keep from being run over.I do remember all these rickety trucks that were so overloaded that it was impossible to see the road beyond them. I took a cab once in Mexico. I don't even remember where or why but I was talking to the driver about the secret to driving there. He pantomimed turning down the rear and side view mirrors and said " and don't look anyone in the eye"
Didn't you say you rode a bus down?
Which bus? The return trip back up was in my buddy's VW
