Even though I could piss clean, I'm not sure I would work for an organization that had mandatory tests. Is it just pre-employment or are there further checks?

Is that just a general industry requirement?

I mean, we let the president and secretary of defense serve without peeing in a cup--if you can trust them to do their business, why humiliate people with much less important jobs?

Pre-employment.

Healthcare is an overly regulated and intrusive business thanks to many people, many people. The best people.

Depending on your position in healthcare, from physician to nurse aide, there's also mandatory finger printing every five years. Of course they're on file, and could just run a ******* background check every five years, but the idiot legislators make businesses incur the cost of actual fingerprinting. At least there's been a nationwide proliferation of electronic biometric scanning so it is more available, i.e. not a police station.

Could or would?

Also, this is my first job I didn't have to take a drug test, but the others were just pre-employment.

I had to take one (and get fingerprinted) at the fed--that was a long time ago, but I assume they are still requiring them. I think that was just pre-employment (and probably post-incident, but that's probably more applicable to people in cash processing where there is industrial equipment...)

Never at my current company, and I suspect it would be bad news if they suddenly did...

Maybe I posted this before? I go into the shop one day and had this convo:
Boss: I want you to go out the Kaiser job. Those welders got something fucked up out there I need you straighten it out.
Me: Uh I can't go out that job.
Boss: Why the hell not??
Me: They're drug testing out there.
Boss: So fuckin' what?
Me: I'm not gonna pass and it doesn't look good for one of your foremen to show up in a company truck and flunk the piss test.
Boss:(first confusion then surprise) Well **** you you fuckin' old hippie. Don't worry about it I'll send somebody else (walks off muttering to himself)

"Check out this article that explains how they are cross-bred, but non-gmo!"

So they are genetically modified but not genetically modified. OK.

Technically there is a difference.

Directly inserting foreign genes into a genome is not the same as controlling which plants ******** with each other.

I don't personally care, but some people choose to draw the line there and laughing at them for it probably isn't going to convince them to accept the wonders of genetic engineering.

Dude, I get off on controlling which plants ******** with each other. Nothing gets me ******* harder than making a corn stalk and a daisy get it on.

Yeah. These people are really cognizant of the difference. If you removed the word "apple" and explained the food's genetic history i guarantee you they would freak out.
