I raise you:

- Lillian Thuram
- Zlatan Ibrahimovic
- Miroslav Klose
- Javier Saviola

SOCRATES SCORES!

Sorry, I know he's long since retired, but how can I resist both football and Monty Python?

Can I add:

Freddie Ljundberg (Sweden and Arsenal)
van Persie (sp?) (Netherlands and Arsenal)

Others:

Christiano Ronaldo (flashes of brilliance; whiny, divey, little b----)
Michael Essien from what I hear
Didier Drogba (he's the guy from the Ivory Coast with the perpetual pissed-off look, like Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank or Robbie Fowler)

Zambrotta has not been mentioned.
I have read all the football posts and Djibril Cisse's name keeps coming up,I have no idea why.I would not have him in my pub team.He is a joke in England where he has played for the last two years.

Currently watching USA,they have started really well.Convey looks good.

Pavel Nedved (semi-retired Juventus/ Czech national team)

Doesn't Beasley (aka Run DMB) play for the dutch team PSV Eindhoven?

Go Liverpool!

The Best in the World i think:
Gerrard over Lampard cause Gerrard showed he is good for club & country.
Gerrard over Ronaldiniho for the same reason. I think players like Lampard and Henry & Ronaldiniho are very very good players but the reason they look so good is that they play in teams that suite their style or (in Henry's case) teams that are built around the star player. Thus the best player should be able to perform to their peak in all circumstances.
