I hate going to the gym

I hate waking up in the AM, but I do (occasionally); I hate having conversations with the intellectually challenged, but I do; I hate being old, but I am… blah.

Too ridiculously expensive? Was the under bidder (by several bids) on Princess Margaret’s Faberge desk clock, so, been looking for a while.

Interesting. My approach is the opposite. I choose my watch after I decide what I’m wearing:
Slot 1 and 2 are watches reserved for travel.
Slot 3 watch is for jeans or shorts or jean shorts or short jeans even.
Slot 4 watch is for casual suits, odd jackets, or knitwear.
Slot 5 watch is business suits.
Slot 6 watch is formal, social occasions.
All slots have been filled and any further watch purchases (upgrades) will be on a one-in one-out basis. I can’t imagine ever finding something that will upgrade my slots 2, 3, or 5.

Here in 2023, a dude could easily get by with one watch pretty well for pretty much every reasonable scenario.

Brax, what slot is this? UnFacconable is making a strong case for this being the OneWatch. Of course TheFoo owns this watch.

While I like the idea of versatility with watches, I guess I am hardly the poster child for versatility or owning 1 watch for everything having just added a 15th nice watch.

I miss the days of having a "tight five". I enjoyed the act of curating around having the right variety, but ultimately I got tired of the churn needed to actually try all the stuff I was interested in without exploding the collection. I'm at 10 or 13 now depending on how you count some cheapies and it kind of drives me nuts, especially given 3 or 4 of them are clear winners for me now.

I certainly did not seek to have as many as I do. We do what we do.
