Grayson’s vamp is machine stitched, so that’s the difference there. Randolph’s look to have a heavier thread and larger hand stitch overall.

I've worn CJ Conniston, but I don't like the rubber soles. Had EG for Holland & Holland with medway sole
those were great, especially for snowy climate

I love the sausage like rolls on my shell cordovans but sometime they get too big and unsightly. Any way to smooth down the rolls, crease, waves, or whatever you call it?

You can temporarily reduce using the spoon/deer bone method, but they will return when worn again.

I find that my shell footwear that rolls the most deeply are the most ill fitting (relatively speaking).
