How long does it take for Russian billioner-farmers to learn how to dress well? Medwedev looks god-awful in his bespoke disaster school-boy uniform, super tall collar and disproportionate tie that looks like sea-bass around his neck. Sleeves , those long sleeves...grrrr.

Medvedev's clothing looks better, but Obama has more allure (he'd look great naked, his clothes do not help him in any way).

None of them is elegant: Obama wears boring colors, has no style and ultra-long trousers. Medvedev has better shapes, better colors, etc., but his jackets and sleeves are too long: hence he sometimes looks like he's wearing someone else's clothes.

Based on the picture above, there's no way Medvedev scores any points, and Obama wins easily. I'm really not sure why your opinion of their physiques matters to their style. Obama's suit in this picture seems to make the best of what he's got, Medvedev's does not. Simple.

Most American men do not wear pocket squares. In general it's still considered to be a bit 'dandified' by the average American. Not that they are by any means unheard of or rare in the big cities. But politicians in general try to dress very 'middle of the road' in the US.

This is the same reason why Reagan's plaid suit got so much hate.
