Thanks, Antirabbit. I know you're right. I think it's why I posted on it...needed the reinforcement lest I decide to go back. I'll be passin' on it. Worst part was--didn't notice the moth damage until after I found it the second time around. By then I knew I wanted it.

Ah well, something will turn up soon enough.

What ever you do, do not bring moths into your home....
You did the right thing.
I have made this mistake and I paid dearly. Lost all of my cashmere sweaters to the damn moths, and they started in on some cashmere jackets when I finally stemmed the issue.

Yeah, I have trouble doing pants. I don't exactly know what I am looking for so I can't do it so well by look/feel (dress shirts I can often tell if they are worth looking at by the collar/shoulder).

There are just so many very similar, very bad pants on the racks that I can't be bothered to look. Maybe I should start with just looking through the darker stuff since it is dwarfed in size by the rack after rack of khakis.

Dammit, I can't find these anywhere! I think they are more popular/still around in the south.

Ouch, that's terrible! Sorry for your loss.

I hate looking through pants... 90% of the time there's nothing, 5% there's something but it's not my size, 4% there's something my size with pee stains, and 1% I find something nice in my size. Needless to say, I'm still waiting for the 1%. On a happier note, I calculated some things and figured out that I have spent roughly $120 on about $5500 worth of clothing (MSRP) over the last few months. I love thrifting!

$12.

I have found a bunch of newer Oxxford pants (in my size too!!), some incotex, and a few other gems at times, 99% of pants are crap. I look for pick stitching and waistbands to speed the process.

I don't bother with the trou either. I might give them a glance in hopes of finding that rare NWT pair, but I skip both those and the shirts, for the most part. I look at the used shoes, but only for shell to resell.

Generally, the only things I consider for myself are the sportcoats, sweaters, ties and miscellaneous accessories such as watches and cufflinks.

I usually skip trousers as well, but I always feel as if I'm missing some good finds. What is it you look for in the waistbands? Is it just for designer tags, or am I missing something?

I look for the telltale signs of the Zanella waistband... difficult to describe, but you know it when you see it!
