Need opinions here.

What do you guys think of the brown chromexcel unlined PTB with a commando sole? So far, I have only seen this pair with the single leather sole. Will the commando sole change the look?

PTB on commando. These are lined though.

Looking for a little help with what I think is a silly question. What is the difference between a Dover and a PTB? I thought the main difference was that the PTB is lined but the Dover is not, but I could be completely off base. If the difference is lining, is there a difference in fit? I also thought I heard that the Dover is a tighter fit, which would be great based on what I'm thinking about ordering. Again, just want to be sure.

Thanks in advance.
The design of the shoes is slightly different - you can check it out if you google images of both. I would say that although the Dovers might be a slightly tighter fit, there's a little more "give" in the shoe. I think they conform to the foot a bit more readily. From what I understand the CXL version will probably stretch a little while the shell Dover won't as much. Plus I've only ever seen the Dover on single flex soles while PTB's come in a range of options.

These are incredible. Sorry, I'm a bit behind - is this the recent NY makeup?
Yes sir, just picked them up last night and very happy with the result. Different than my other cigar pairs but the perfect color for my intended use.

My post from a couple days ago, below.

The Dovers have the piece of leather that the eyelets are in that extends in an arc down to the welt.

Thanks Tif. I do recall seeing this and didn't make the connection. I think I missed it because I was star- struck by how absolutely stunning those Whiskey PTB's were. Without beating around the bush, the essence of my question is whether a 9E Dover will fit my normally 9D Barrie feet. Since these would be for casual wear and likely slightly thicker socks, it appears as though it might work. The question is whether I want to rill the dice.

I think that depends on how the 9D Barrie fits you...

Don't. CXL will stretch a bit, and ill fitting CXL usually ends up with really unsightly shaping/wrinkles.
