afaik the chess site defines a brilliant move as a hard-to-find-sac that significantly and immediately improves the position .

some are actually pretty easy to spot . i've had brilliant moves that beget a winning position and I've had a few that consolidate a winning position .

the best move I ever made in chess ( I've posted it here ) was counted as a brilliant move and it was a beauty . that move justified the previous 10 moves that i'd made and yielded a checkmate .

a pretty aggressive d4 opening , more ideas here



i'll edit to add : tried it out a bit . the line leading up to it is not bad and can yield similar oppos even if the full gambit is not accepted

Got it first try. Had to figure out that you need an intermediate move to get the second queen, and then figure out that you could put yourself into a completely winning position a full rook up, but losing one of your queens. I first thought that maybe I could be a queen up, but that was not possible.

a very interesting outcome : black abandons the game both end up with 100% accuracy .

after f4 and c5 white cedes space for structure and piece development . black grabs space and prepares piece development .

what is black's next move ? keep it a hundo
