Good morning SF community,

Can anyone recommend any good reads on kids lasts and shoemaking for kids? I know that some shoemakers made/make stuff for kids, but haven't been able to find anything useful in English or German literature nor research papers. As I plan to makes shoes/boots for my daughter, I wanted to know what the current state of research says. Asymmetrical last? But most contemporary kids shoes have symmetrical lasts nowadays. Leather (oak bark) insole, or something more flexible? For soles I would use crepe. Does anyone have any experiences or recommendations in general?

Can’t think of any books but maybe reach out to Amara Hark-Weber. I know she did a bunch of research before making her child some shoes.

Clearly chatgpt hasn’t ordered a pair of bespoke shoes lately.

Corthay shoes started in Sept 2019 and here we are Feb 2023 still no shoes because of Covid. JLP first pair also took like 18 months.
