Apologies if there's a similar thread. I don't range over here very often.

What music do you like that's pretty much indefensible, but you don't care? I'm not talking about music that people think sucks, but they are stupid, because it doesn't. I'm talking about music that people think sucks, and it does, but you like it anyway.

The first category: Kelly Clarkson.

The second category: H.I.M.

I'm not ashamed of things I like, and I'm ashamed of liking them.

I love Madonna and Blondie. I will never convey a sense of shame due to it, either.

Madonna and Blondie are both actually great.

I think he means something more along the vein of Air Supply, whom I love.

I like R. Kelly. I eagerly await more chapters of Trapped in the Closet.

fuuma- great pick. i had/have the biggest crush on her... those gold booty shorts were ******* awesome.

as far as the music goes.... too much music that other people consider ****... but then again, taste is very subjective.
Probably the two genres that get the most negative reactions are punk stuff like the Germs, Flipper, Dead Kennedy's, etc.

and... the pop **** I like.

like Tatu... haha.

I reread the op and would reiterate that the larger amount of shame would obviously come from the love for girly pop music.

Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up". I actually don't mind being Rickrolled.

My sons consider virtually the entire 70s and 80s indefensible, even stuff like Talking Heads. One band I am unapologetic about is preferring Style Council to The Jam as a vehicle for Paul Weller's talents.

The Smiths. For someone as sunny and optimistic as I am it's a miracle I don't open a vein every time I spin their tunes.

Frank Black and the Catholics. They've been called 'groove' and 'feel' type musicians (which stretches that term beyond recognition) simply because one cannot say nice things about their technique. I bought their first album unheard, and for some reason I dig it.

For some reason I like that " I'm So Hood" remix record, by DJ Khaled. Mind numbing lyric(save Big Bio) and a cheesy T Pain chorus, yet I listen to it atleast weekly.

The subway commercial "Five, Five dollar, Five dollar foot long"
I hear it and it stays with me for several hours.
I like it. I think it is terrible.

The Laurie Burkner Band, its kids music. It is by nature terrible, but I like it.
I am forced to listen to it by my daughters, often for at least an hour at a time, and the cd is only 5 songs long.
So, I have learned to like it.
