So the tender oak bark tanned belt my girly got me for my birthday arrived today.

The leather is real thick and dense. Pretty hard to bend in some parts. For sure to last a lifetime.

When i first got it out of its tyvek envelope i gotta say the strong fish smell caught me off guard as it had been finished with mutton tallow and fish oils.

Ill probably hang it outside for a while for the smell to go away before i start wearing this in public lol.

Pics later if people are interested.

The leather on that belt comes from one of the best tanneries in the world, and arguably derived from the best vegetable tannage (slow and pure.)

You ain't gonna find many leather belts with better raw materials than this one.

buckles nice but leather looks difficult to wear. a lot of these "tanneries" are make these thick ass meat belts and a lot of them look weird imo. i would wear the buckle but put it on one of my somet belt.
