Tailoring question

Friends,
I bought quite a nice Cantarelli suit form Yoox recently but the trousers legs and seat are a bit voluminous for my tastes. I have never had this kind of alteration done and was wondering how involved it is to take some of the girth out of them. Will it throw the rest of the proportions off?

Probably OK unless you are wanting the trousers rebuilt entirely. Go and discuss it with the alterations tailor and take his/her advice, it is not possible to hazard a guess on the certainty on the basis of a couple of dozen words.
