These look amazing. I am certainly considering C&J but likely would not go further into the EG range.

I wonder what your thoughts on a dark brown leather vs. dark brown suede. I generally gravitate towards brown leather with only owning suede loafers but am curious as to your thoughts on versatility when comparing the two leathers in a chukka boot.

Would also be curious on thoughts between the brecon and kew.

Kew looks nice. I haven't worn my Brecons in many years, but they were one of my go-to shoes for a while. I find the shape straddles various levels of formality. I wore them with tailored trousers and slim-straight jeans. The Kew looks a bit sleeker and maybe something I would only wear with tailored trousers, but I don't have any first-hand experience with them, so I can't say.

I personally like chukkas in suede or some kind of grained leather. Without some kind of texture, I find that the vamp looks too plain in a smooth calf. It's also a more casual shoe, so I like it in casual leathers.

While we're on the subject, are there any opinions about four-eyelet vs. six-eyelet chukka boots? Is one style more traditional or formal than the other? Does the extra pair of eyelets help make the boots fit more securely? Or is this really just about preference?

4 eyelet is the classic configuration.
