I'm looking at a few tweeds on the net labelled as barleycorn in color. Given the inconsistency of colors on computer monitors, I'm trying to guess how the color looks in real life.

In my mind, barleycorn is a light greenish-yellow (more green than yellow). Is that about right in the fabric world?

I've always heard barleycorn as a term used to define a pattern, not a color.

Hmm, I went back and checked - standard solid Donegal, but the color is listed as "barleycorn." Looks like a light green on my monitor. I may just give'em a call.

Barleycorn is a weave of fabric not a color. I've seen barleycorns in every shade of brown and green. They probably do it in other colors.
