I was sort of thinking about this the other day, I guess driven by the new "bucket list" movie.

any thoughts of things that you would like to do before you die?

strangley enough, aside from a couple of very specific places to see just because I haven't been there - "the Stans", dakar, Mali, Zanzibar, there is pretty much nothing that I can think of that doesn't have to do with taking my kids and/or wife someplace or to do something that I have already done.

I'd like to see my kids happily married, see grandchildren. I'd like to take my son to a few specific places, my daughters to a few places, my wife to a few places. that's about it.

how about you?

1) Get our dream house, then get said house paid for.
2) A couple of decades of good health and no need to work.
3) There's a cairn on the Isle of Skye I want to visit.
4) Spend several months in French wine country.

Endow a scholarship or chair at my alma mater.

Be able to spend an extended period of time (a couple months at least) abroad on holiday really becoming a part of the community and daily life.

Just generally make my wife as happy as possible.
