Thanks! I was hoping they'd be darker than new MTO picture at least. Did you happen to use waterproof spray on those at all? I'm asking because those can darken the shade a little.

At this price range, it's not possible. It's a skin stitch method and not a "proper" split toe Derby. It still difficult to achieve and shows craftsman skill.

Those appear to be the Coimbra grain. I have a pair of those derbies in that grain and I enjoy them very much.

It's the one to the right. The left one I don't think we have ever used. If someone wants to organize a GMTO for anything in it, let me know.

I will assume the leather is full grain, as I don't think that a corrected grain would take the patina colors. I'll double check.

Yes, the grains are stamped, like almost any grain you will find out there. Some leathers get their texture naturally like exotics and some by milling (like Tärnsjö) but in the leather industry, natural grain textures are rare.
