I'm probably going to pick up some Carmina Chelseas this upcoming season from Skoak. I wish they had more full leather sole options, but I guess the climate there warrants rubber for many shoes.

I last ordered from Skoak 1.5 years ago, and I remember paying no customs fees. I see online you can ship Fedex for cheaper than USPS. If I go either route, I assume I will most likely not get hit with import duties. Is that correct?

It is confusing but Leaves already answered this in one of his post

"Note that Betis looks very different after they have been finished. It looks so different when finished that we have been reluctant to post them before. As an example, the derby shoes posted here is in Castagna Betis."

For this very reason I have been reluctant to order betis calf. However eventually I will I think go for a chukka on betis calf. It seems to be very durable leather.

Thanks! I must've missed that post by Leaves.

You will most definitely get hit with customs fees with FedEx. This makes FedEx more expensive in the long run. I'm 5/5 with no customs fees with USPS.

I order with fedex from skoak and haven't been hit with custom fees. But I could be just lucky so far.

@Leaves @Skoaktiebolaget

Does this mean no more deliveries from GG until Fall? I'm still holding some hope for my last pair of GG by this summer...

Fellas, just FYI, the Carmina factory closes for summer leave on Friday and opens up on August 10 again. Edward Green, G&G, StC and Bonafè also closes up for a couple of weeks so we won't get any answers (or deliveries) coming out of there, just so you know.

On August 12 we plan to launch the first part
of our fall collection from Carmina Shoemaker. Keep tuned then! Deliveries from other makers will also roll in mid-August, so be sure to check out this thread regularly for updates and new releases.

I will be in vacation until August 10, Gabriel is back on the 17th so Alexander, Douglas and Oliver will pilot the ship, so please allow for a few extra days before the team responds to emails. Please note that you should always email [email protected] for queries instead of using PMs.

Thanks fellas, have a great summer, this past Spring/Summer season has been phenomenal! I really enjoy working with you guys with amazing special projects and MTOs. I'll probably post here during my vacation, but less frequently.

Enjoy your vacations @Leaves and Gabriel.

Incoming - G&G Burnhams in mole suede on the deco last.

Great choice there. I usually would not think of going high end for a pair of Chelsea boots due to how infrequently I wear mine compared to other shoes/boot styles, but this is one where I would actually consider it.
