i like it a lot tbh.

but...didn't you buy one of those like a year ago and return it?

Yeah, the one I bought and returned had a really hideous contrast ribbing (kind of a vivid blue-green) that clashed with the suede (more of a forest green) and I decided I was better off getting one where I wouldn't have to get the ribbing redyed or replaced.

edit: found a picture of the jacket in question.

German Deutschleder jacket? Superthick cotton that hopefully will soften up. Would of course exchange the buttons to black.

No real need, but it could be cool.

@hoodog

Prefer the top one with black hems personally. The grey one kinda got lost in the myriad of colors there.

That was actually my first impressions as well. The darker hems kind of "frames" the pattern - holds it together. But the hems are not black - they are called "peat" which is a mix of mainly charcoal and dark brown.

So...not to harp on this, but what makes the jacket unsuited to what I wear (or what I wear unsuited to the jacket)?

I'm not saying it's not a valid perspective, just that I'm a perpetual noob and don't understand. :embar:

I feel like your body type and features are so distinct (angular is the word that comes to mind) that you could do yourself a favor by exploring how to shape your wardrobe around those qualities. Is that something you're cognizant of and have you ever looked into what kind of clothes are typically flattering for someone built like you? I get the feeling that this piece is one to avoid, particularly with the collar up. To be blunt, it accentuates how pointy your ears are, which is just a microcosm of how pointy your overall shape is. That's not a negative thing. You have a great frame and look. I just think you can do better by gravitating towards a little bit different style than sometimes you are drawn to (I've had this thought before on some of your fits.)

That's interesting and potentially very helpful. I have literally never taken into account the pointiness of my ears when making wardrobe choices. :laugh:

I've actually been gravitating slightly away from wearing only stuff that's flattering for my build (all slim errything), wearing looser jeans, sizing up on tees, and not worrying if my shirt or jacket is on the boxier side. I'm slightly hesitant to go backwards (partially because I'm pretty sure I'm slowly getting older and fatter), and I'm not really sure where to go from here, although I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

Does anyone know much about Represent Clothing out of the UK? Is it normally true to size?

RepresentCo. makes most of their stuff to be elongated. Not as long as a dress, but not as short as a reg fit t-shirt. I have a few pieces from them, and I bought a Large in all, except a bomber jacket. I take an XL in most shirts and jackets, but the Larges fit me great in their T's. I will try to post a pic for reference, once I am off work.
