i bought these ferragamos about half a year ago or so, and i've only worn them a couple of times. i know close to nothing about dress shoes, so i was hoping someone here could help me out.

the soles are shown in the below pictures. they look a little bit messed up, from walking on sidewalks and stuff. i'm not sure how much "damage" the outsole is supposed to have before i'm supposed to turn them in to a cobbler.

so my questions are:

-would i need to resole these shoes soon? how long is the usual timeframe until i will have to resole them?
-is this wear normal?
-what can i do / where can i go to have them cared for?

i bought these at nordstroms, so would i be able to go in to the shoe shiner guy working there and have him buff up my leather for me?

thanks for any input!!!

Many people (including yours truly) put excessive wear onto the tip of the shoe.

Your local shoe repairer can nail plates (either iron or plastic) onto the toe area to take the strain and protect the sole. (Once the plates are worn down, they get replaced.)

Yes, and with your next shoes put on the plates from the very first hour.

It is normal wear, but...

1. You should use shoe trees, which you dont?
2. Use the search function for special care for the soles right now
