Shirt Fit Question - Trap Area

I have an annoying problem with just about every off- the- rack- shirt I buy (and suit jackets as well) - I get a bunching or fold of material right where the trap line meets the back of the collar. It seems my tailor has corrected this with any MTM suits or shirts I have bought from him (only two suits and a dozen or so shirts), however, I want to put an order in with an online service and don't necessarily want to go and pick my tailor's brain [for obvious reasons]. Does anyone have an idea of what the cause of this is so I can mention with my order? I should add that I'm athletically built and my traps, shoulders and neck are quite a bit larger than average, although not outrageously so. Thanks in advance for any input...

I have the same problem. Ask Shirtmaven. He's correcting the problem on a couple of shirts for me as I type this.

Shirtmaven - I guess I would say I'm somewhat V-shaped so I would think my shoulders would be considered square but my shoulders do "roll" slightly forward. I notice if I pull my shoulders back purposely, the folding (about an inch of material folded from lower in trap area over higher trap area directly behind neck) is alleviated. It's something I have had tailored with success, however, I was hoping this was a "shoulder-type" condition that can easily be explained when making an online order. I don't have ability to send pictures at the moment, but will try if the info I provided isn't sufficient (BTW, please ignore my private message). Thanks for your time...
