I understand the company was acquired and dissolved about 6 years ago by Montblanc. Any opinions as to the quality of their products? At what price point were they sold at? (ie. wallets. briefcases, etc.)

Seeger used to be very, very good. If I recall correctly, the late Pope John Paul II actually use Seeger.

I thought it was folded into Montblanc, both of which were owned by another luxury group (Richemont?), and that it made the Montblanc leather goods. Has that changed?

You seem so serious up to now. You miss freedom?

Back in the mid 90's, in NYC on Madison Avenue and ?? 42 street, I believe there was a luggage store that carried Seeger, or maybe it was even a Seeger boutique. Anyway, I recall price being in the $1200-$1500 for a simple briefcase. I remember this because I ended up getting a Bruno Magli for about half the asking price of a Seeger.

Miau, Miau, you haven't been a Miesekatze. You should think over it with a big glass of Griesvelt.

Seeger was one of the finast leathergoods brands high quality and used a beautiful, soft lambskin. The company was purchased by Richemont, owners of montblanc on the early 21st century. Richmonte terminated marketing of Seeger products a few years later and used the factory in Germany to exclusively manufacture Montblanc leather goods. In 2008,production was moved to Italy and the factory in Germany ceased operation. The Seeger name was purchased by an underfunded private equity firm with the intention of making products in Germany that were of traditiinal Seeger quality. Soon the new owners realized they couldn't manufacture in Germany with high wages and .are money so they tried producing briefcases and other mens accessories in low wage countries. This lasted until around 2016 and these bags were being marketed put of California and now no word iF seeger is still active. A real shame, because Seeger had the reputation for making really beautiful and durable items.
