I was thinking about my tie rotation once Labor Day came and went and realized that I have a rough two month window for most ties. Now, many basic ties can be and are worn year-round, but this is what I generally do:
September / October - Colors get slightly darker. Orange, especially burnt orange makes an appearance. Wool comes into the rotation.
November / December - Almost all wool. Tartans. Red and green around the holidays.
January / February - Wool stays in the mix, but Silks come out again. Colors turn to grey and slate blue.
March / April - Brighter colors. Silk. Some cotton sees a turn.
May / June - Much the same, but more cotton and linen.
July / August - Almost all cotton and linen. Madras.
Any other thoughts?
