I picked up the leather laces from a shoe repair place/cobbler shop here in the Dallas area for $5.99. They came in 72 inch length so I cut off about 8 inches to get them down to size.

I have a pair of red wings. It seems to me that oiling them weekly is HUGE overkill. I had a pair for about 10 years, worn daily for the first five years of that, and I only oiled them once or twice a year.

Also, I noticed that on this forum, people like to say that they are going to put on their boots and "beat them up."

What does this mean? Are you going outside and running through gravel parking lots and kicking hard objects with them and then rubbing them with sandpaper or something?

Well done. You really captured the shallow materialism that some people accuse generation Y of having.

I think that you would have really hit it out of the park, though, if you made some subtle statements about hipsterism, like maybe if you put a "restored" hammer or something like that in the bench too, or if you fake-antiqued the bench itself that the clothes are on and snuck in a rack focus of a $4,000 price tag.

Today I picked up a pair of Red Wing Iron Rangers in Amber Harness (8111). I immediately replaced the laces with a pair of dark brown leather laces. In my opinion they give the boot the high end look that they deserve. Let me know what you

How do Iron Rangers size? I have the 6" moc toe and 6" plain toe boots and take a size 9 in both. I take a size 9.5 in the 3 eyelet chukka.

yeah, they've become quite fashionable. Bradley Cooper has them on in lots of photos..
